Business Experience

I taught for several years following college graduation and retired to raise a family. During those years I worked part-time in the medical field. When my children were on their own I spent several years working in real estate both commercial and residential. I realized my calling was in helping others financially. I currently bringing 20 years of experience as an advisor to my work with clients. I began my career with American Express Financial now known as Ameriprise Financial. I sold my financial franchise at Ameriprise to spend a year in the banking channel gaining valuable experience. I then joined Waddell & Reed from 08/12 to 7/20/18 before leaving to join LPL Financial, an outstanding broker dealer, that I am very excited to be a part of. I am an LPL Financial Advisor doing business as Newberg Financial.

Personal Interests

Part of my personal time is spent volunteering with animal rescue, dogs mostly, though K-9 Lifesavers, a non-profit rescue group based in Virginia. We have adopted our own rescue, SandI, who is getting on in years but not in spirit. We were glad to be able to provide a home for this “senior” girl and encourage people to think of rescue when they are looking for a pet. I enjoy spending time with my family whenever I can. I also, like to read and cook. I especially like to make time to stay current with financial news by reading books and publications specific to that subject.

Philosophy

The past several years have seen dramatic changes to the world’s financial markets. Now more than ever, it takes patience and diligence to be successful at investing and planning. Those are the qualities that I have focused on throughout twenty years of a working relationship with my clients, personal and business, while developing investment and risk strategies tailored to address specific financial needs. I believe that each person’s situation is unique to them and our strategies must reflect their personal or business needs. Working together, having a custom-tailored financial plan, using financial products that best suit your goals, and implementing continued review helps ensure we are moving toward agreed upon financial goals to pursue your aims whatever your stage of life.
